The Process
Individualized Yoga begins with a relationship of mutual trust between you and Cindy.
Once you and Cindy have an initial meeting to discuss your reasons for seeking individualized yoga, Cindy will provide you with a personal practice to be done at home on a daily basis.
In the beginning, you might meet with Cindy every week or every other week to adjust the practice, however, over time this can be reduced to monthly or every other month. Cindy will evolve the practice and guide you over time as your capacities strengthen.
Your daily home practice will involve you directly in your process of healing and self-transformation. In addition to healing the body and calming emotions, the practice allows time for the mind to quiet down and become clear, leading to valuable self-reflection and greater personal insight.
Cindy will tailor your practice to meet your needs, taking into account your time restraints, personal schedule and current capabilities. Cindy may choose from a variety of tools, including breath, postures, movement, sound, visualization and meditation, depending on the particular student’s needs and personality.
Getting Started
Cindy will accept a commitment of at least three sessions for new students, but recommends five sessions. It takes time to implement a new practice and observe the effects.
An Initial Assessment. In the first appointment, you and Cindy will explore where you are currently and what needs you may have. You will leave with a short, preliminary practice. (1.5 hours)
First Follow Up. Within one week, you and Cindy will meet to review the preliminary practice. Cindy will teach you how to do your individualized home practice, and answer any questions you may have. (1.0 hour)
Continued Guidance. In these follow up sessions, you and Cindy will discuss any questions you have about your practice and make appropriate adjustments. (1.0 hour each).
